It's worth posting some photos so that we can check the watch out - there are more fake and frankenwatches than real ones and I'm sure that you wouldn't want to sell a fake.

The older pieces don't need to go to Breitling, and in fact in many countries Breitling no longer services vintage pieces (it's not hte same company - the otiginal Breitling went bankrupt in 1978). Assuming that the watch is genuine it may be worth sending a PM to one of the members on here, chronodeco (Craig), he does some servicing and restoration work. He's based in the US if that works for you.

Well, it's 1962 or later because that was the earliest that the arrow marker at 12 o'clock appeared. Serial number should be inside the caseback which allows exact dating. The beaded bezel is less common, although I've seen a few with it - usually mid to late 60s for that. Movement should be a Venus 175.

What's on the dial above Chronomat - I've not seen that before - MENTER or similar??

The hands look to be original and I don't see any problems with the dial or caseabck, can't comment on the movement obviously.

The only info I could find was describing a 1960's Omega watch for sale "Also has the word
'Meister' on the dial, German for 'Master' and not often seen on models
- it indicates a higher level of craftmanship to the movement and watch
overall." Whether or not this is true I wouldn't know.
