From 1973. Slow sellers because of the retro 1970's styling. They can still be bought nos for around $1200 but usually sell in the $500-$800 range depending on condition.

The four digit number is the ref. number... that is your model... from the looks of it, looks like a ref. 1451...

the thirty minute register advances every minute every time the chrono function is engaged... I do not believe you can "set" it...

it's one of those pieces for me that say "buy it" (there are NOS for $1095 from Old World) but then again the gold color...

wish I could see some wrist shots... maybe a little persuasion might be in order? :lol:

I need help here guys. I sold this watch for $400 to someone in singapore that claims repairing of the stem ( or pin, not sure what its called ) would cost him $200. Is this true?

Yes my auction stated no returns. But doesnt ebay always find in favor of the buyer? My concern is, everything about this sale is a case of "he said ,she said" He says the minute and 12 hour counters are not working. I know for fact they worked. I tested them and my other half tested them. But how do i prove that? He says he has to repair the minute and 12 hour counters and replace the stem . The stem being loose was stated in my auction, so that I do know needs repair. Sorry again to trouble you with this , but your a god to me right now. lol

It will not be a good idea to send this watch back as I have already paid 10% of import taxes and also the return shipping will not be cheap, so I hope we can settle this amicably by a substantial but necessary partial refund ($200)which will barely be able to cover the repair costs, once I receive the refund I will not raise an Ebay resolution case or leave a negative feedback which will harm your future standing as a seller. DH

Thank you so much for a fast response and your help. I have one last question. The second and 12 hour registers , I can set, but how do I set the 30 minute register? The stem is not loose but seems to want to pull all the way out. Also what model is this one? Thank you so much again.

Yours looks like it's in good condition... enjoy it~ Thanks for all your help and if by wrist shots you mean a picture of it actually on ones wrist, this was my fathers watch and I am his daughter, lol. So I think my wrist may not do it justice lol I was going to post it on Ebay , unless you have a better idea. I just want it to have a good home, my father kept good care of it. I did notice in my research so far, that it looks as if he changed out the band from the original leather one? I saw this type having the leather band.

Yeah that's not the original bracelet, but then a 1970s leather strap wouldn't be particularly practical now anyway. There is a Buy / Sell / Trade section here which you are welcome to try, but eBay probably gives you the best audience for this piece.

He is asking for $200 back. What would a stem replacement cost? I dont mean to be a pain or come off as an unreasonable person, but I swear these ebay buyers are going to drive me to drink. lol This guy begged me to include singapore in the shipping destinations and now I am sorry I did.

. . . but the buyer is trying to get away with a fast one. 1. You clearly stated that the sale was final and that the buyer was getting the piece as is. You also appear to have clearly stated the known issues with the watch. You informed the bidders that some level of restoration would be needed. That's what vintage watches are about. 2. You got a fair price for such a watch and, fair price or not, you ran a fair auction. 3. To my thinking, the seller has no further claim on you, only the threat of bad feedback. 4. I think you should offer to the buyer to cancel the deal. He returns the watch at his expense and you refund the purchase price. Do not attempt to negotiate a repair compensation. That's a bad practice. 5. If you do that via the eBay communication system, then I believe eBay will back you up all the way and if the stinker leaves you bad feedback, I'm betting they will expunge it for you. In other words, and I can't be that confident, I think you are on solid ground and eBay will protect you as a seller. If he doesn't understand your position, send him here and we'll explain it.
