Redone dial but the rest looks pretty good. I haven't seen one of these come up for some time.

It must be about a year since one came up. It'll be interesting to see what effect the dial has on the value - it should still be well up there.

Looks very nice~!

Also, forgive my lack of knowledge, but how do these rattrapantes work? and what purpose do they serve?

redone dial, crown not original, no reference number, the case is not like Breitling, the pushers are not for this case, and look the 2. movement holder screw.

Was it a Breitling or is it a polish Breitling ?

To my thinking, it's just a shame that a watch of unique character has been defaced for the sake of avarice. I wish I knew how this watch started life. I wish there was a court to take such crimes against horomanity.

I wax goofy sometimes. I admit it.

If you look on page 105 in the Richter book you'll see a similar Duograph with the third button in the crown however it also has a 12hr sub register at the 6 o'clock position. On page 110, lower left ref 764, you see the same basic movement with only the two sub registers and no third button in the crown and also a Duograph it appears. So is the three button configuration correct for the 3 sub registers or two sub registers?

I don't share quite teh cynicism of others - it's wrong, but I don't think that it's that wrong. Not sure on the pushers - need to dig into that.

jlee5050 - a ratty works by having two chrono seconds hand, one of which can be stopped independently as a split timer, and then restarted and it 'catches up' to the first chrono seconds.

Was looking through Breitling, The Book again today and there's a picture of a two sub, three button ratty in there.

If it was really a Breitling, it would be a nice collector's piece, because I don't think a "flipper" could get any profit from putting that back on the market. It's just too wrong.

So, some innocent collector scored this in a private auction by a dubious seller and boy, oh boy, will they be brokenhearted to find out it's not a Breitling.

Or, I think you are suggesting that another unscrupulous soul has acquired this to perform another re-badging to pass it off as a Rolex for a multiple of the price.

Lordy. You may be right.
