I have had this for a few years, it was a gift from my wife but I am unsure about history, movement, value etc....can you help.

Not an expert on the stopwatches, Paul (vintage) knows more. I'll move this to the vintage forum and he'll see it there.

The movement is a Valjoux 320 - you can see the number on the movement and the letter in the shield is the factory mark for Valjoux. These pieces aren't particularly valuable unfortunately, they generally only fetch $100 or so. If there is a serial number on the caseback we may be able to date it for you, I'm guessing 1970s.

I assume that it's a yacht timer as it's countdown, but I thought that yacht races used 10 minute countdowns, so a bit confused with the 15 minute timer on this.

What year is that catalogue Paul?

Also, what happens after 15 minutes? I'm assuming that the minute register isn't retrograde so does it stop?
