Nice condition, think the dial is OK, hands are replacements. Paul used to have one I think so can probably give a more accurate answer, but they aren't worth that much - under a $1,000, maybe $700 - $800.

Almost looks identical to the one I'm looking at right now...

to give a ballpark figure, I'm looking at one right now on ebay with a day and half to go and it's still holding at 67 dollars...

Probably shoot up at the last minute but who knows...

that's where I come in...

Dates to 1943. The Venus 170 looks fine unsigned. I like the colored 178 dials better than these plain ones. The crown has been replaced. The hands could be original as I believe there were options on the hands. The sub register dial has the 3 minute marks though which I thought came later in 1945/46 but might be wrong about that. I'd value it between $500-$700 if it's been serviced.

If Paul says that there are options on hands then good enough for me - I've seen blued hands with no lume on these, not hands like this, but no big deal either way.

In terms of the 3 minute markers, I've seen some earlier ones - I think 1947 was when it became pretty much standard, but I don't think their presence on a 1943 is an automatic problem

I thought you could'nt date a Breitling before 1945 as there are no records? But if 1943 is right then my one 462 559 would be quite early.Sorry to butt in on this topic.
Mike.

Pre 1944 the serial numbers are a little hit and miss, but they are still generally 'lower is earlier'. 1943 is a fairly safe bet for this one as the serial number is only about 2,300 before 1944 watches start.
