You could do a lot worse than this one - http://cgi.ebay.com/VINTAGE-BREITLING-C ... dZViewItem

One owner from new, original box and papers, restoration papers from North America's only factory authorised vintage service centre.

Buyer doesn't have a high rating, but this looks to be the real thing!

Box looks right to me.

The wathc looks new because Mark Heist has restored it. Mark and his wife run the only Breitling authorised vintage service centre in North America and does an amzing job at restoring. It can take over a year to get the watch back because of his workload, but he will custom make any part that he can't get ahold of.

I have asked for photos of the actual paperwork on the repair (rather than just the sticker), but if this watch has been tocuhed by Mark - it is what it claims to be (or at least was at the time Mark worked on it).

$3500 may be a bit high for this era (dates to 1960), but certainly $2,500 wouldn't be unreasonable given the box and papers.

Given what some of the other (lesser) watches are selling for on eBay, I don't understand why this didn't go higher. The good news for the seller is that he did have a reserve on it, so at least he didn't lose out.

He hasn't yet replied to me on my question about the Horological Services paperwork, and may not as bidding has ended, but if that looked right I wouldn't have any concerns.
