I was very skeptical on the vintage watch scene. I have been observing for some time. well, i found one that when i saw it i knew....it had to be the ONE! I got it in the mail today....I LOVE IT now, i need to find a bracelet. thinking of a new mesh 22mm.  This is the Automatic version. i am thinking 1969 (thanks to a good friend on that) any thoughts? |

Nice catch! Those 1806's are getting harder to find since everyone seems to want one now.

OHHHHH, i never thought i would say this to a man... Nice Set  you have two great looking fintage pieces there!!! Any idea at all on where i can get a good strap or bracelet for my 1806? thanks |

Banda did a nice job of making me some to order a few years ago. Either a croc or lizard style works best for the vintage look but when you're getting them custom made you can try just about anything. The bracelet will be tough to find and can be either mesh or a regular link style. |

. . . is the outer, rotating chapter. That appears to be redone as one for a Chronomat and not a Navitimer. In other words, they don't match. |

I imagine some people who see the reissue big case Chrono-matics discover the real pieces. They epitomize the seventies. It’s not uncommon to see seventies Rolex 6265s go for well in excess of 30 grand. Assuming the world avoids some sort of petro-econo-collapse, I wouldn’t be surprised to see mint 1806s and the like fetch 10 grand in a few years time. Shane Warne, the infamous Aussie cricketer and ladies man was recently sporting a silver dialed Chronomatic-49 on some TV poker show. I like the new ones, but the originals are cooler. The 816 case shape introduced in ‘67/’68 must have blown people’s minds! Totally over the top – my understanding is that they weren’t as great a seller as Breitling had expected. I think in 2009, with big complicated attention grabbing watches very much in vogue, these pieces will find more and more fans. Unfortunately, with dwindling parts for the finicky Buren cal. 11/12, that may cause hassles for those of us who like these pieces as daily wearers… |

i am still happy, it is not like i use the slide rule to calculate, i would like the correct one if any one has access to one, but not a biggie R |

Get them from Breitling free. They return your serviced watch in one of those. Or you can buy them off ebay for about $20 or so. |
