I am an avid collector and usually am good at spotting the fakes, this one looks too good to be true but I really like the look of it. Any ideas on its authenticity? Check out the auction link and Let me know.
Thanks, Jeff

Another quartz movement piece... that's two this week~!

Sorry, can't really comment on it... don't know too much about them... looks nice though... but if it goes bad, then you're probably going to be stuck with a paperweight...

I'm a bit scared to touch 'vintage' quartz...

Looks strikingly similar to my beater Tag Professional from the 90's... :D There's another piece posted by Vintage(Paul)... but can't really compare to that one either because it's totally different from this one...

Not a clue on this one. Looks like what I would expect an early mid seventies Breitling quartz diver to look like. Seller got the reference number and serial number mixed up I think. Would help to see what the movement and inside of the back cover says.

Yeah, I'm out too - not qualified to comment on this other than to say that it could be a day away from being a paperweight. When the movement fails on these you likely won't be able to find another one (and if you do it will be just as old).

Excuse Paul, but it has nothing to do with the seventies. This is a typical watch of the early 80th, when Ernest Schneider bought the brand name Breitling, but produced his watches with him old watch factory called Sicura watch Corp. He bought the name Breitling in avril 1979 from Willy Breitling. Willy Breitling died on may 1979, on septembre 1979, the Breitling factory closed forever. Only in 1882 E. Schneider foundet a new Breitling called company on the address of him old Sicura company.

But in the time between 1979 and 1982 he produced Breitling called watches with him Sicura watch corp. some of them in very small quantities, but other as Jupiter, Pluton, Mars in large quantities. Some of this watches are very rare and unknown, special the different diving and sailing watches. Because the diving and sailing watches Breitling got the anchor in the trademark "Breitling 1884". Sicura was specialized in diving watches.

I have such a very specialized diving watch too, look here:

Note: take a look of the hour hand of the diving watch in ebay, their is a sign, look as "S", S as Sicura or Schneider Industries Corp.

A case for one of these "Super Compressor" watches has been on eBay since AGES.

Never seen an actual complete watch though.

in the begin E. Schneider used the old Breitling markers on the dial, sometimes only "BREITLING", sometime "B" Breitling, sometimes "BREITLING GENEVE", although a company Breitling in Geneva didnt exist anymore, also he used the old AOPA Logo with a "B" inside, only after end of 1984 he invent the "Breitling 1884" logo.

Little bit surprised this one is selling for this much. Interesting to see what the final price will be.
