It stands to be very informative. You make up so much mis-information, I think we must ask you to produce your exhibits.

Bill asked what's inside the case-back. I hadn't realized that was important but see from other discussions that it can be. I have attached a picture. As you can see there is nothing. Is that the final nail in the coffin for this watch?

I am starting to understand that the bridge is critical here. What I think is interesting is that the bridge has been so obviously changed. If I was faking a watch, I think I would try to hide that more, no?

Is there any way to definitively decide if a watch is real or not? Will Breitling do that and issue some sort of certificate? I have heard that they confiscate fakes if they receive them.

Thanks again for all the comments.

Not an expert on what should be on the reverse of this caseback, so will let Bill comment on that.

Breitling won't certify vintage watches like some brands do, not even sure what paperwork the modern Breitling will have access to from before the bankruptcy, but I'm also not aware of them confiscating fake vintage pieces.

I don't think anyone is believing that this watch was made by the original company prior 1979.

The assertion is that it is made in the early 1980s by the new company. I just don't know. I would tend to think not because,

1. No one can produce any catalog or advertising copy.

2. Even though it is on the inside, one would think the movement would be more nicely dressed (and not have a compromised bridge). I was hoping the inside caseback had more information, too.

It is very simple, just tell to what already in the literature is already familiar to anyone without any own research ?
