Tough call. There are things I don't like about this watch but the Duograph is such a rare watch I can't say for certainty they are wrong. The movement matches what's in the Richter book. The ref number of 764 is a Duograph, hand wound, round case and buttons, 45 minute counter. The serial number decodes to 1945. My concerns are; The ref number stamping is different from the serial number stamping like they were done at different times by different equipment. The Breitling script on the back cover appears to have been added. A crown guard with screw in case seems very unusual for a watch that dates to 1945. Crown guards are normally seen on diver watches not gold Breitling's. $23k? Don't know if I would be confident enough in this watch to pay more than $2300 and that would take a lot of research before I bought it. The dial appears to have been redone too but that in itself isn't really a bad thing if it needed it. Paul |

Thanks for the info Paul, the seller (from argentina) has good feedback and sells a lot of vintage watches. however I can't find a picture of this watch anywhere. I know this watch would be the one to fake. The seller has no paperwork on it. They say they will accept $16,000.00 I would sell some of my other watches to get this if it were real. Again thank for the info, if anyone else has any thoughts on this I would love to hear them. Andy |

Fwiw, I looked at the other Breitling's he's selling and they're all recreations from bits and pieces of other watches. That alone would be enough to make me stay away from the high dollar piece. Paul |

I won't touch an Argentinian piece - too many recreations. Like Paul I don't like the crown, and 1945 is a little early for round pushers too, though if memory serves it's possible. Not sure what the two 'T's are about either side of the Swiss Made either - never seen that before - only ever a single T after the Swiss Made |
