Post subject:  Crap- badly scratched my vintage breitling acrylic glass

I woke up this morning after a big night in the pub to discover the glass on my 1969 Breitling chronograph is very badly scratched

Fortunately whatever I scrapped it against didn't touch the bevel or metal.

I will need to replace it, polish wont work as they are really deep, could someone recommend a place in the UK that can replace the glass? I just had it serviced so I need somewhere that will just to the glass and not insist it needs a service too

Any watchmaker should be able to get hold of a crystal - they aren't expensive and it's a simple install.

As long as it's not one of the larger chrono's like the 48mm Chronomatic or Navitimer. Those crystals are almost impossible to find and the last one I had I sold for $350 and I should have kept it.

Holy cow - never realised that they were that hard.

I think I'd make a pocket watch crytal work at that money!
