Hi there, Having been a watch enthusiast and collector for a few years now I have just picked up my first Breitling. To date my collection has mostly focussed upon vintage Omega, Longines and Rolex. The new acquisition is a stainless steel Top Time ref. 2002 from around the mid 1960s. Does anyone know where i can find further information about this watch and whether there might be some vintage advertisements somewhere on the web? Many thanks in advance, Colin ![]() ![]() |

Welcome Colin, and nice Top Time. There's not much information on the web for these pieces unfortunately. Navitimers are easier to find information on, as are Chronomats, but not much on these. There are 1969 and 1970s brochure scans on this site - http://www.breitlingsource.com/books_70s.shtml and http://www.breitlingsource.com/books_1969.shtml. There are also some that come up on eBay occasionally. From memory (I'll check when I get home) most of the 2002s had a Valjoux 7733 movement. However, the early ones, which the case suggest this one is were fitted with a Venus 188. That would be 1965 - 67 if I remember correctly. If you let mehave the serial number from the back I'll give you an exact year on this piece. There are some pictures on the Israeli club site (text is in hebrew) - http://www.clubbreitlingisrael.co.il/si ... D7%9D+2002. Don't worry about the fact that most look different to yours, they are later. Hope that helps! |

Hi Colin, Congratulations - that's a beautiful watch. The Toptimes are nicely understated and one of my favourite Breitlings. I have a similarly-styled 815. I much prefer the older, simpler-looking Breitlings. Few models from the recent past grab me, with the exception of Grand Premier and the recent Heritage line. rgds, Ike |

I must say, that is one SUPERB watch IMO. Looks amazing for its age, and also looks great on your wrist. ![]() |
