$1,800 is a decent, fair price for a beautiful piece, $3,000 is far from realistic for today.
It would be good to have decent pics of the movement, a Breitling ltd. Marking on a 1940s movement would be surprising and clearly not raise the value.

are you asking us, trying to convince yourself, or to convince us ?

it isn't a question of "genuine", the watch clearly is, but of being totally correct or not.

A Breitling LTD. signature on the bridge would indicate early 1950s assembly at the earliest, but dial woukd be wrong for this, logo had changed to applied script B by then.

You asked if LTD added rarity (in a positive way) and value - the answer to this is clearly negative, it does raise some doubts as clarified above. Shows we should actually keep mum about watches until we have decent hires pics - Roff gave you a link that explains how to embed hi res pics from a hosting site, please do that.

And please stop posting multiple times in succession. A post can contain 60,000 characters, that should be enough!

There is a seemingly similar unbelievable condition SS 769 on ebay

So would be a good benchmark for market value, I think.

Could be the pictures, but that ebay one looks polished? Also does the bridge on these say Breitling Premier?

exceptionally nice piece, maybe a bit of polish work on the case, but w/ the correct 1940s box and papers !

will be intereresting to see how high it goes and where the reserve is.

San - some movements are unmarked, some Breitlings script, some including Premier, though primarily 18k pieces, we've seen them all, totally inconsistent. All on cases produced in 1945 to 1947 that were assembled/finished in the subsequent years until the early 1950s.

Does the chrono second hand missing a tail and is it norm to have tail for the running second hand?
