not easy who to go to ...
our best (in this case only) source has stopped to accept new customers for the moment.
so the (probably) last resort will be the Heists of horologicalservices.com

here are some Chronomat for you to compare the correct hands; subdial hands aren't easy, but doable, sweep is the easiest to find.

these non-lume are missing in the TZ article iirc, show you the same hands on a non-lume dial:

mmm..so..should the hands be correct if we assume that is a non-lume dial?...and the hand on 3 o'clock should be red just the same...the others?

ok ;)
i was looking at the lugs...the original lugs had bevels...in mine bevels are pretty totally polished out, except on one lug,but they still can be "seen",except one that probably had a massive polishing on it.
can you help me about the original finish?
satin on the side of the watch?polished or satin on the upper part of the lugs?i can't understand looking at the watch, totally covered by scratched or patina

thanks
so the very first questions have solutions :)
the color and the type of the hands should be ok,same for the finish of the case (i will see if ,excluding laser welding, there are some chances to redo the bevels)
and i suppose that,as i'm thinking to do,you will all be together with me in not refinishing the dial and the moonphase disk (that seems to have some damaged part on the left),only a good cleaning of them.
as far as you know, are there some difficulties in finding parts of this specific caliber?

parts for the base caliber 178 are available, specific parts for the date and moonphase complications could be very, very hard to find, have never needed those yet.

So,a little up
You may not believe, but i wasn't able to find a reference for The dial of a 1948 801 in gold plated SS.
So..i have to take it for good as it's now.
I've asked to a professional lab in Italy, case could totally be refinish to Brand New with polishing, laser welding and replating..
BUT
I'm asking myself...is this kind of operation appropriate for a 68 years watch that has arrived in 2015 with this own look?
I think that it's not The way to follow..and i'm still in doubt ..a little polishing to restore a very light satin finish or leaving it this way completely
Same for The mono disk..searching for a recent spare part or leave it as it's now?

Due to the aged condition of the dial, I think I'd just get it mechanically sound and leave the cosmetics alone. That dial wouldn't look right in a refinished case. If you refinish the case then you'd probably want to refinish the dial and I would think the honesty of the watch would be lost. Your watch though so your decision.

Hi and thank you for your answer.
I exclude to have The case redone ,meaning The complete restoring to The Brand New condition, your observations are mine.
The only indecisions are about a little little polishing for a very light satin finish, but i'm not sure The same, because it's a gold plated one and i'm afraid of losing The original layer
So..The decision is between servicing and trying a very little polish or servicing,a New strap and..nothing more
