Valjoux R72 above.

here are Venus 178, early version w/ the movement holder insert (those 3 screws that confused you) and later version w/o movement holder.
last is an example of that U-shaped V178 bridge in an early 1940s ref. 734, still unmarked, not used in Navitimers.

Thanks Fred. Just so it's clear -- the movement picture I posted is a Venus 178---early version ?

While I'm waiting to send this Navitimer to Craig (june) ; Better to leave it unwound, or wind regularly and keep running ? It seems to run well, and keeps very good time, but no service for at least 40 yrs.

Interesting watch that is

Can you do me a favor and count the beads on the bezel for me ? And yes, i am serious ;-)

I almost discarded it wanting to say 'its not from 1952 but the serial number is misprinted like many others' but this one seems to have more than 124 beads on the bezel ?

my friend, even you can't tell the difference between 124 and 125 from a pic ;)
but looks to be more than the 93 beads we see in the misnumbered 806s.
very interesting, as it also has the 3-screw movement holder.

OP, please count ?

but looks like 86x.xxx, s so 55/56, 124/120 beads.

Well, i cant tell from this pic ;-)

But it looks like 120 , quickly counted , so different from the SS misstamped pieces with 93 beads
