On a more serious note, set yourself an annual budget and stick to it, when in doubt just think back to the time you had your last house build / remodeled and your partner (and/or yourself) insisted on the bespoke solid modern oak kitchen with belgian hardstone black countertop, the design french range and belgian wood burner for the family room and kitchen.

Sigh deeply knowing most of your savings went into the house and pass on the piece you really wanted only to find it a little cheaper 2 weeks later "hey ! I just saved some $$$$$'s !!"

One of my friends has a signature he uses on a yachting forum "when i pass on i hope my wife doesnt sell my toys for the prices i told her i paid for them" ...

I will try that one when i see it Supermoto but i will admit that i normally drink the Islays , nice smokey and peaty 'like licking the freshly tarred bottom of a wooden rowing boat' :D

You may want to try a blended brand that was the smokiest, peatiest I ever had - Compass Box's The Peat Monster. They had some blurb about how it's not single malt, not a blend either. I don't recall the exact point, but I remember it being peaty and quite good considering I was a single malt only guy. I haven't had a drop of C2H6O in over 4 years, but I did like to keep a bottle of the Peat Monster around for those nights where I wanted the smokey flavor.
