No question it's rare, I wonder if it was the Space enthusiasts that pushed the price up.
Love the name "BeBe Lune"

I'd really like that piece, but I just don't see the value that the market does - it was way too high for me as it was and then for it not to hit reserve is crazy (though I guess it may have been sold in the end if reserve was GBP3,000).

Yes you could get a nice vintage Breitling for that.

Having said that it was in great nick and that box maybe just pushed it over, you'd be looking for a veeeery long time
to find another.

Be interesting to see if it pops back up, but my guess is a deal has been done off ebay.

. . . I was surprised at the small size. From the ads, I had the impression that it was clock-size, but the posting says it stands four inches/10 cm. But, this one is only the second one I've ever seen for sale.

It didn't reach reserve first time around so I suspect that seller is just relisting it.

No reserve this time and went for under GBP2,000. If it's a genuine sale the seller lost a ton.

yes, ebay is so quirky that way. Still the final price is pretty strong!

Yeah I agree, this is still a good price, but the seller must be gutted (assuming that he didn't buy it himself).

Looks like a different one, maybe the seller saw what the other one went for and decided to cash out.

The one with the box sold for $3000
the one without for about $1500

So the box is worth $1500 :geekfuman:

Most expensive box we've seen yet.

But remember the first time the initial one came up it was at GBP 3,000 and didn't make reserve - even more stooopid.

BTW - I think you got a bit carried away with your zeroes :poke:

You caught me. It was the old fat finger.
Hope I didn't crash the Nasdaq.
