Seller is saying it's a 1973... If it were a classic case in that period, it would be ref. 8806 with date, not an 806.

The serial number places it in 1970. But I thought the last 806 were produced in 1967... :?:

Looks like a perfectly fine 1970 806 to me. They certainly were being produced in this period, and this has all of the right cues - large subs, serial number on the outside, boxed Breitling logo on the caseback etc.

The only thing slightly unusual is the fact that the serial is below the model number, more common to see it above.

Obviously not 1973 as stated, and the price is high for the condition of the watch, but it's OK to my mind.

Thanks Roff, I didn't realise that they were producing the 806 until 1970.
