would have posted this in the Fake/Franken section, as it clearly is VERY incorrect, but that's not the interesting point about it.
was watching it to see what that hodgepodge of parts would sell for; actually sad where this market is going, sold for $2.3k.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-VINTAGE-60 ... true&rt=nc

a blatantly incorrect ref. 806, not even a decent parts watch, as the dial is horribly refinished, sliderule is junk, hands incorrect, case w/ pitting & polished to hell, pushers & crown wrong - so the parts you might need are the bezel, some of the hands and the .....V178 you think and then you see not even this seems correct ?

it clearly is a Venus 152 - in what seems to be a professionally adapted case to hold the 13 lignes movement - and clearly not one for the 13 lignes R72, as it would be incompatible.

explanations anyone ?

Rene thinks it's just a turned down movement holder from another case, doubt that; the movement plating is in line w/ the plating used for the V178 in the 806s, as are the markings on the movement (different from the 1940s V152) - another task not easy for a "production run" of one piece ....

there also doesnt seem to be enough space to operate the start/stop lever ?

now I realize I am looking at a 2D picture but when you push the start/stop button the end closest to the column wheel needs free space to move. Doesnt look like it has a whole lot of room to do that ?

That movement holder is a darn good fit for the case, I have a hard time believing it wasn't designed for it in some way. Not sure about the chrono activation, the movement is angled away in the photo which can easily deceive. Something is very strange about that though and no easy explanations.

It's really junk all the way, but with the right knowledge & tool, I believe that everything is possible.

I have a friend who makes the best work on cases that I have ever seen, the examples below is his work, it had been polished a lot before he worked on it.
He once told me that he can make me a whole new case if I want, I obviously never will, so a movement holder ring seems like a walk in the park.
