Hey there,
I am trying to get my ref. 2002 SS Top Time back in a better state. I have two questions I am hoping someone can help me with.

Crown:
I received the watch with a signed Breitling crown in place. From some research, I would say it is not correct. This is the only pic I had on hand as I am away from the watch at the moment.
Image

Not the best picture to illustrate what I am looking for. From what I have seen, the original crown was a little more rounded on its face. That and rounded on the teeth...meaning the teeth had a doom to their profile.
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone knows where one would source a correct crown for it? Are there any other Breitlings that I can also look under for the correct crown. Also, if anyone has a really nice example, would you mind posting pix and maybe measure the overall diameter? Thanks!

Crystal:
I had some work down on the movement recently, and my watch builder said that the crystal was very loose. Its not going to pop out he thought but when I asked about waterproofing, he just laughed. I am not looking to dive with the watch, or even swim for that matter but I dont like the thought of a loose crystal. God forbid I drop it in water, get sprayed by a hose, anything that could happen and I get water on that wonderful dial. Looking for a good source for a replacement. I didnt ask my watch guy as I wanted to see what people hear though first. Again, would like something as original in shape and profile as possible.

Thanks so much everyone!

I've seen both style crowns on the 2002 Top Time. I wouldn't worry at all about the one currently on your watch. At least it still has a Breitling crown and not a plain crown. I think Breitling used different crowns during the Top Time production span and you would also have to factor in normal replacement crowns over the years. I don't see it as anything to worry about.

I think the original crown had smaller "teeth", but that is not an issue for me.
re crystal - run of the mill standard, any watchmaker can order the correct type for you.

Really? Cool. I'll have to stop by my watch maker and see what he think.

My most recent top time 2002 crystal was something like £3 according to my watchmaker.... very cheap and easy for anyone with a crystal lift tool due to the front loading.
