Not having seen one of these recently, is that outer bezel correct? Looks like a different shape than the beads of rice and other later styles I've seen.

Kurt will obviously know for sure, but it doesn't look right to me, I don't recall seeing anything like that before.

No unfortunately not, I know close to nothing about 18 K Navitimers, but it looks spooky to me, not a watch I would pay top $ for.

ultraspooky bezel, but the whole case is spooky, too. my only 18k piece is a 769 where the case design is 1.1 the same as the SS version, the lugs on this one do not look correct, do they ?

the bezel here has no resemblance whatsoever to any SS bezel I have seen on pictures or in reality.
Kurt, I hope it is ok to add a picture from your wonderful Navitimer history page for comparison ?

Yes, its correct and typical of solid 18K Gold 806's of that era as the cases were made by an independent gold smith

here's mine

Is the back cover of these watches stainless steel? Appears that way in the pictures. If it is stainless I can't remember ever seeing a steel piece marked 18k so the pictures are probably just making it look stainless, right?

Afaik you can't put a steel back on a gold case because of the difference in hardness and associated wear.

back covers are also 18K Gold , hard to photograph the true Gold colour

Excellent Dracha. Lovely Navi. Thanks for sharing.

For reference here are a couple of the earlier 806's in solid gold.

I handled one of these and the lugs were hollow!
