Before Xmas I was fortunate enough to attend the Haslinger sale of Heuers at Bonhams. Many Heuer collectors flew in for the event and I attended a brilliant dinner at which many were gathered. I believe we counted 17 different nationalities. However in the afternoon I met with Noodia and a couple of other collectors to share some watches. I brought my Breitling Superoceans.

The two companies in my mind are intertwined, occasional collaborators, sometimes competitors. It was great fun to handle and see so many amazing vintage watches and I thought I'd share few pictures with you here. It was a great day and thanks to everyone for being so welcoming.

Of course I had to try some on. This one melted my heart a little bit.

Hope you didn't have trouble sorting out whose was whose after the group shot! Some really unusual pieces there, thanks for sharing.

Thanks. I didn't even think of bidding in the sale, as Tag Heuer were there with their cheque book picking up
pieces for their museum.

The entire collection of about 81 watches and some display items made a total of £475,000 Sterling.

A 1969 Autavia hammered at £30,000 Sterling.

Hats off to them, this was one of the best promoted auction of vintage watches I have ever seen. I think Heuer were keen to make their mark like Omega did a few years ago with the Antiquorum Omegamania sale.

First time I've seen that GMT Autavia... very choice... I think I see a Monaco peeking at the top of pic #4... probably the only vintage Heuer I would swoon forever...

thanks for sharing!
