Well as days go they do not get much worse!! Firstly I was informed that I am to be made redundant in 28 days time :cry: I then come home to find out I have been knocked for £600 :evil: I bought some tickets for the Ricky Hatton fight from an aqaintance of a aqaintance via a bloody wire transfer and he promised to send them special delivery, he has now stopped answering all my messages and still not sent the tickets, he was also on my friends list on FB and he has removed me and blocked me from contacting him. I have spoken with my bank and they informed me it was not a fraud matter it was a dispute and that they closed at 5pm and to call back tomorrow Im affraid of what else can go f-ing wrong!!!!

I am sorry that everything has seemed to go wrong for you today. Venting is quite alright I think you have earned the right to. But remember and I know you dont realize it now but it can be worse. If your health and family are good then in the end thats all that matters. I will be thinking about you and wishing for the best! Tomorrow is another day!

Really sorry to hear that I too am in between contracts right now and theres nothing worse when you dont know how you are going to pay the bills,But about the tickets mate all I can say is karma has a way of coming around very quickly as I found out recently when someone messed me around and lo and behold now the same happens to hime and he got banned from a forum as well for his trouble,Not the same as being out a lot of money but what goes around comes around mate and usualy quite quickly.

Chin up though mate dont let it get you down. :roll:

well taffy,sorry to hear that. things will be looking up soon. i kinda had a day like that also. first off we are now 1 and 7 and everybody was told that we may be job hunting byb our gm. and then i get a call from my wife saying that there was a 2500 charge on the cc from a baseball trip to vegas. i used it to save the rooms and then my "buddy" was comping the rooms. well he didnt and he is now giving me the run around. wont return the texts and phone calls. well good luck to you and remember karma is a b*tch. (thats for your friend) so keep your head up.

Sorry to hear the bad news on both accounts. I know this is alot easier said then done, but always try to find the positive in a bad situation. Without sounding like a horiscope....now is the time for change! Speaking from past xp, change has worked to my advantage. I know everything will work out for you, I think we've all been in similar situations

It's been said by all the others but would add my voice to theirs and say that yes - "what goes around, comes around"

Your "mate" will get what's coming to him, for sure.

On the job front, having lost 3 jobs in my time I know what you are going through. I've been a self employed contractor/consultant for 13 years now and the longest I've been out of work when looking was 2 weeks!

What is it you do? Surely with nearly 3000 members we can at least point you in the direction of a dozen jobs.

Come on guys (and gals of course) - thinking caps on.

You may look back at ths time and realise it was a turning point :wink:

Cheers guys much appreciated, I work in Waste management, I run a Waste transfer station and a Recycling MRF. I have my IOSH and also WAMITAB CoTC level 4s, I am also an Associate member of the CIWM, I have turned the bloody 2 depots around from losing 90k per month to making 101k last period GO FIGURE!! Like you all say maybe it is for the best, I am on leave this week and my works phone has not stopped ringing!! And STILL I answer it, my wife is going nuts :evil:

I have been offered a job but it is in Abudabi :shock: running their Municipal and street cleaning contract, but with 2 small children 8 and 10 my wife will not relocate, I am now torn between just me going over!! Not sure I could do that but still an option.

Could you not go over for 3 moths say and see if you like it then your wife and kids could come over at a latter point,You dont want to all go out there and not like it and all have to come back,Is there no Redundancey pay coming if you have been there for more than 2 years you get 1 month for very year after that,Its a real bummer mate I got made redundant from a job I loved 5 mins from home and I could come and go as I pleased more or less then went to BT and that lasted 6 months I have been contracting sice Dec 07 and its really hard 3 months work then nothing for 2 months then 6 months work etc I just finnished 6 weeks for a local Council now I am waiting again although hopefully it will be quickly back to work.

But dont let it get you down mate you have to keep a positive attitude make sure the mortgage gets paid and try to go intrest only for 6 months it may reduce the bills put everyone else on minimum token payments like £5 a month etc they have to accept it if you offer to pay anything.You can get through it mate,As I said just keep positive :P

I went to www.totaljobs.com and did a quick search for "waste management" and it came up with over 1000 hits. Some will be duplicates or just a waste of time but there may be something in the UK for you. My mobile dongle is painfully slow tonight so it would take hours to search more (I'm not kidding - the hamster running the network must be about dead!).

If you need any help regarding being self employed or setting up your own company drop me a line.

Good money to be had out there in all fields if you're prepared to take the leap.

Hope the day's got better rather than worse any way.

BTW - no selling the 'Lings!! :lingsrock:
