Guys

As you know my wife issued a buying ban on me telling me I had to sell some stuff in order to buy new watches (toys as she calls them  ) I gave her a token gesture by posting my boxing belts for sale (although not on any boxing forums   ).

The challenge I have issued myself is this -

Can I turn £1000 into £2000 by March by flipping watches :?: I have a certain watch in mind that I can aquire for £2k but only have a £1k. It is my birthday on March 15th and I have promised myself that if I reach the above figure I will treat myselt to a Navitimer 8)

I am letting you all know before hand what my intentions are and that over the coming months I will be hopefully selling a few watches, if any of you object to this let me know and I will not post the watches on here. I do enjoy this forum very much and I hope I do add a little to it, but I will not Jeopardise my standing on here for the sake of a £1000.

I have just secured my first "Buy" and it will be with me on Wednesday with a bit a luck. I promise that the margin gained will be small but obviously I am taking a risk buying a watch in the first place that may make a LOSS or not SELL at all

Any thoughts?

I think that's pretty cool. Not sure what kind of success you will have, but it will be interesting to find out. You are offering a watch for sale and stating a price for it. Everyone has an opportunity to decide if it's a fair price, and if they decide that it is then that's great, if not then they'll pass. The price you paid for it isn't relevant.

Driver8 bought an Olympus that he bought specifically to try and sell for profit (sorry Driver8, I know it's a sore point) and I sold a red OR strap that I only bought to sell for a profit.

As far as you buying and selling genuine watches and doing it honestly, I don't see why anybody should have any objectives. Good luck.

Not when it comes to replicas - you and Sharky are the experts there - it's not even a contest!

Yes as Roff said, I've done it (or rather tried to do it!) too, so go for life Taffy!

Hope you get a bit of success mate.

Incidentally, as Roff said, I tried it with that Navi Olympus and while I did turn a very VERY small profit, it went for about £800 less than it should've been worth. So all I will say is GO CAREFUL with what you buy to sell, or else you could end losing cash in the current ecomonic climate. :?

TT: If you find a watch for a deal, then make a bit on it for your research, risk and maybe luck, congrats!! Who knows, find one that I want, for a price I am willing to pay, and I will gladly pay you your profit. That, my dear friend, is the cornerstone of a free market, and God love it! :D
