Post subject: | Back from Curacao! |
My first day back to work after visiting the island of Curacao. Coming back to work is always so tough! I did make a stop into Little Switzerland on the Punda side to see the Brietlings in stock. I looked at the Navitimer and thought it was way to small. I'm definitley going with the Navitimer World. The selection at Little Switzerland was good, but no Navitimer World. I visited with a sales rep for about an hour and she was not well informed of the product she was selling. The store manager got involved with trying to close the sale on a Navitimer, and I told her I was not interested. She then located a Navitimer World in Aruba, and told me she could have it on the island by Friday. I kindly asked her what I could purchase the piece for, and she quoted me $5120 USD. I very politely told her not to bother with going to Aruba, and that I could by one for less stateside. She asked me what I was quoted and I said $4395 USD. She turned to her sales person and mumbled "He is lying" in Papiamentu. I told her "I was not lying." She was shocked. Needless to say, I thanked the sales clerk for showing me a few watches and I left the store. I was was going to visit Gandleman Jewlers across the street, a Rolex retailer but they are closed for rennovations until October. I was rather angry the way I was treated. I would not recommend visiting Little Switzerland in Curacao. Pricing was close to retail. Needless to say, the island of Curacao was beautiful, and I would recommend visiting it! The people are really nice, and very friendly (minus the manager at Little Switzerland) Here's a few pictures for you all to enjoy. Awesome pics! Looks liked you had a great time. Your experience in Little Switzerland seems a little bit worse than mine. They offered me extremely high prices as well but at least I had good service! Nice Rollie! ![]() |

Thanks for the comments Flyboy, Altair, and Admin! The trip was great, I'll definitely visit Curacao again! As for the shopping experience at Little Switzerland, the sales clerk was nice, but she had to refer to the sales manual for every question I asked her. She was a sweet older woman, but was not knowledgeable about the product at all. Looks like I'll be placing the order for the FULL LING this week. I already miss those cocktails and sunsets..... ![]() ![]() ~Brian |
