Are there any Breitling forum users here from Germany?

I ask because I have located what I believe are the links I need for my Superocean, and they are priced right, but the seller is in Halle Saale and doesn't want to ship to the USA.

If you do live in the EU, perhaps you can explain why sellers wouldn't want to mail to the US. Are postal rates excessive to the point that selling to American customers is prohibitive?

Danke.

for the exact same reason that USA'ians do not want to ship outside the US ? too many perceived issues , tracking shoddy , delivery times unreasonably long etc etc etc

. . . except Italy, where anything watch-related disappears.

Since they don't send mail on the water any longer, a small padded packet with two watch links via air shouldn't be a major issue.

In the US, anything mailed abroad with a value of $50 or so takes a single very simple Customs form. Tracking would be an unnecessary luxury . . .

Well, I send all my stuff through Fedex , and the only cnty in the world that requires 'extra' paperwork is the USA , the USA wants a 'fedex watch worksheet' detailing the watch inside the box

Italy no problem with fedex (knock on wood) but I have completely gone away from using anything/anyone else . too much hassle , not enough tracking to satisfy buyers (and myself) and too slow . Yes it costs a bit more but I sleep much better

. . . who doesn't have a problem with the US.

I ordered two links this morning from an established seller in Germany, and I will report on the results when the links arrive . . .
