Post subject:  Electric shavers

I use an electric shaver during the week - much prefer a blade shave, just don't have the time during the week - spending nearly 6 hours a day commuting kind of cuts into other activities!

I have been using a Philips (Norelco) 8894 for quite some time - it was my first Philips style shaver after always using foil shavers before, and even though it was the best Philips available at the time I'm wary of getting another now that it's time to replace. The battery life has been great, and you vcan clean it under the tap, but the shave just hasn't been that close.

I'm thinking of the Braun 7 series, but wondered if anyone had any experience / recommendations. My beard grows very quickly and I have to shave twice a day if I have an evening function so it's quite important to get this right!

I also prefer wet shave.. I have hurt myself using electric shavers pushing too hard.. it cut my skin up and scarred me from using them ever again!

It's wet shave all the way for me too - just a standard Gillette Mach 3. Bizarrely I find it loads quicker than using an electric shaver.

I've only owned one electric shaver in my life and that was when I first started shaving at about 14 if i remember rightly. I guess I've just got pretty quick at wet shaving over the last 20 or so years!

It's Roff-en-zi-an

Latin for someone form the city of Roffa - long story.

Well you lot are no use at all are you!

I can wet shave fairly quickly, but I tend to multi task while I electric shave because you don't need a mirror as much so I can shave while I get the rest of my stuff together.

Hmmmm, I don't think I'd personally risk multi-tasking when I'm shaving first thing in the morning, as I'm usually so half-asleep I'd probably end up shaving my head and eyebrows as well!

Anyway Roff, the forum has apparently spoken - ditch the 'lecy razor and make time in your schedule for your "manly grooming", so that you can enjoy a refreshing wet shave like the rest of us!

I use a Braun 790 a couple of times a day (apparently stubble hurts  ) and love it. A good place to pick one up is Amazon.
