Post subject:  Any boxing fans

I have always been a fan of boxing. From the age of 9 I trained and boxed at schoolboy level. I then got hooked on kickboxing at 16 and started to fight. I won the Welsh title but then had to have 2 opperations for something called Achalasia and it put a stop to my fighting days. I then went on to train the youngsters but it just made me want to fight more so I distanced myself from the sport. Lately I have had a really strong urge to get back in to the sport, maybe as a trainer or referee? I think this came about when I recently met Michael Watson a British fighter who was badly injured in a fight against Chris Eubank, he spoke to us for ages and still has such passion for the sport. Anyway I was just wondering if we have any other boxing fans on here?

Yep, right here. It's my number one obsession - more so than watches, if you can believe it. I love the training and I love watching it.

i thought about getting into it, but my vision has never been good. I cant imagine how many contacts I would go through...poppiing out during a blow to the head. Plus, I am unsure of how much damage I can take, I mean I am a big guy, but after Seeing Gatti-Ward and what happened to Ward, I'm hesitant.

Yeah, if you're thinking about getting into boxing then it's probably best to avoid watching any of Gatti's fights!

Any predictions for this weekend's big fight? I think De La Hoya's just too damn big for Pacquiao. I'd love to see Manny take the fight to him though.
