Finally my good wife and me got awway with out the kids for a break to a little gem of a castle spa resort. With my new job and my wife's pronation I have not had much time to be on here much. I thought I'd share this resort for any one thinking if having a luxerious castle break in Ireland. I have stayed in all the top well know castles around and to be honest I never even heard of this one before we arrived at the door. It's IMO up with the top but at half the price. It's luxerious, on large grounds, the spa is the best I have been in, great food and to top it all it's a real castle. It's a bit off the beaten track but worth it. Any one interested in a true castle break in Ireland, I highly recommend this place. Also any one needing details or help PM me and I'll do my best. http://www.kilronancastle.ie Oh and to keep it revelant! weapon of choice for the weekend away, Evo on brown Croco! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Looks great. Ten years ago this summer we stayed at a small castle outside of Edinburgh, named Dalhousie. The experience was great and the kids were able to see a Scottish wedding party. We still have a picture of the kids with the lead piper, a late substitute "apprentice" (aged 65) for the hired fellow who died suddenly (aged 84). Checked out the falconry and had a nice Angus steak in the dungeon. It was a splurge but a fun one. My wife was in Ireland on business a couple of years ago and hit the B&Bs down by Killarney. She loved it and it was probably the most economical way for her to take a quick tour after her work concluded. Next time I go with her. |

Looks like you had a great time. Ireland is beautiful. My wife and I went on a vacation there about 12 years ago. We flew in to Dublin, rented a car and hopped from one BB to another. By the end of the trip we drove in the shape of a "u" to Galway, stopping at places like Waterford and Kilkenny. The exception was a stay at the Ashford Castle, which was amazing. It was a great way to experience the country. The only problem is that I had a difficult driving in the US after a week in Ireland. |
