I second the Tumi option. Their ballistic nylon will take anything you can throw at it. I have everything from a gym bag, backpack briefcase, tri-fold suit carrier all the way to full on sets of luggage. Ranging from their Alpha and Alpha Bravo line to ther somewhat cheaper yet just as sturdy and well made T-Tech line. The warranty can't be beat as bozman52 said. If anything breaks at all they will fix it free of charge. They do have leather options but you are getting into Saddleback and custom work prices IMO. I am not really a leather guy and cannot attest to the longevity of their leather products. But some of the ballistic nylon pieces I have had for almost 10 years now and the look practically new. Good luck with the hunt and post some pictures when you decide. I purchase most of my Tumi products from ebay as you can find new stuff with tags for almost half off if your patient and get lucky.

I almost went for Tumi, but needed a daily bag which was wide enough to carry a a couple 3-4" 3 ring binders. Tom Bihn makes one with removable dividers - the accordion-style or stitched in dividers in the main interior don't meet my needs. I ended up getting this one in all black, plus the shoulder strap, which has been a perfect solution - http://www.tombihn.com/briefcases/TB0730.html I added some Red Oxx monkey fists for all zippers. It's one heck of a lot more useful, lighter and far less costly than the last $1k+ Hartman I had.

That is pretty cool they way they built that. Def a better price for sure. Nice find.

I do have a leather tumi wallet that my wife bought me, which I absolutely love. But leather for wallets is ok in my mind. :). I am way to hard on my bags to have a nice leather one like Roff or BoneDoc. I am not mature enough to have something like that. Haha.

That's where you are wrong. I abuse the hell out of that bag!!! It gains character and style. The older and more worn that bag gets the better it looks and the more compliments I get. I still take care of it, clean when dirty etc.. It also has a lifetime warranty, just in case (I am sure Roff would tell similar tales).
BTW, If you think I am mature  , you need to do some post searching under my name. Or just wait for Driver and Roff to respond to your post..... :uplaugh:

I can see how it would gain more character with age and use as long as it is taken care. Maybe mature wasn't the word, maybe lazy was. :). With all my bags I take a wet rag and wipe it off if there is ever a mark on it. I also like the fact that all the tumi stuff has a "skeleton" to it. They all have a stiff Skelton to keep their shape and form no matter how much or how little you have in them. Their shape always stays the same. Do the saddleback bags need any leather conditioner over time? Hahahaha. I will wait and see what they have to say.

BD, by today's standards here you are mature - sad but true. :poke:

The first week that I had my bag a guy at the local shoe repair place saw it and called out "Man, they don't make them like that any more" If only he knew. And of course because it's completely custom the woman can make whatever people want - a lot of her business is in motorcycle bags / seats / etc so pretty sure that she is used to doing stuff to take abuse.

I condition mine every few months or when it seems to cry out for it.

Leather requires so much more work than nylon.

She doesn't seem to be doing them any more.

Really? Wow, I'm surprised, she seemed to have a pretty good business going.

Both my U-Boats are quartz actually. But I do see your point, even if you went to UM :poke: That makes it that much harder to agree with you. :poke:

My mistake, I admit freely that I know NOTHING about U-Boats.
As to my stunning education, while I understand it making it more difficult to agree with me (my dear brother did not get into college and had to go to Michigan State  ), it does make the occasion of my requiring to be agreed with that much more common. :poke: :nana:
