Very nice Roff - the Squadron Crest sets it off really well too!

What is the base made of?

A great piece to keep forever :-)

Good to see you still around BB. The base is a piece of (very heavy) steel. It's then burnished and textured to give it a sense of being the ground. Because it's so big it was cut into two pieces to make it easier to move if needed.

Very impressive Roff, and a wonderful tribute to your father's memory.

They say things happen for a reason, and I think your trials and tribulations with that LE Breitling you were looking to buy have been more than offset by this fantastic sculpture. If you'd picked up that watch, this awesome creation wouldn't have seen the light of day. It's a funny old world............

That is fantastic, Roff. I think you'll be much happier remembering your father with this model than with a watch. The plane is much more unique and definitely one of a kind.
