I've noticed that there are a few Torontians in this forum and since that's where I'm from I was thinking if there is any interest in setting up a local together, maybe at a Starbucks then visit a local AD to gock at and possibly a spontaneous purchase. I hear theres a La Swiss in the Yorkville area so that seemed like a relatively good location for this.

Watch gocking, Espresso, Stoggie. Sounds good to me.

Sounds good to me... as for location, what about LaSwiss in Yorkdale instead?

Ya I was thinking that too but the only reason why I said the one in Yorkville because I know they got some nice cafes with patios. I'd really bother me though where we go.

haha.. its not that vast, I just know a bit about Breitlings. I may be launching a new site focused on Rolex and Omega though, but these will be reference sites, without forums.

I'm in for sure. Somewhere downtown works best for me - my daily commute is 2 1/2 hours in each direction (as measured by Breitling) so I try and use GO / subway to break up the driving which makes Yorkville more attractive than Yorkdale - and yes there are some lovely restaurants / cafes for lunch or similar - just wait until after the film festival, otherwise that many 'lings in one place will attract the autograph hounds and paparazzi

looks like we are getting a good group together. So when does the film festival end?

Roadcarver - I was wondering if we could set it for the yorkville location. If you need a ride maybe we can work something out if thats the only issue.

Hi flyboy,

I'll go with the majority. I'm just not a fan of driving downtown. I can hitch a ride with somebody from a mall location to go to Yorkville, if that is possible :-)

Thanks,

Vernon

roadcarver - if you can get access to the subway that might also be an option - Yorkville is convenient for both Yonge - University and Bloor lines.

Film festival starts today and runs until the end of next week. No reason we can't get together while it's on, but there will be a lot more people in the Yorkville area and if we are planning to try and make a reservation somewhere rather than just crash Starbucks it might be more difficult.

From experience things can also get a little lunatic if one of the big names happens to pass by and get spotted.
