I'll be in the Halifax/Huddersfield area for the next few weekends and I was looking to see if anyone has suggestions about what I should be doing with myself when I'm not working. I know there are quite a few UK members on the forum, so I figured this would be a good place to ask around. I've got access to a rental car and a sense of adventure, so any and all suggestions are welcome. I'd like to see what I can of the countryside and would love to know if there are any "must sees" while I'm here. |

No problem D8! It would have been nice, but they tend not to put chemical plants near highly populated areas... So far so good though! I've been to York and have a trip to to Skipton today planned to take a look at the the countryside. What I'm MOST excited about it is that I just purchased my ticket to see a Rugby League World Cup match. As it happens, the US has made it to the quarter finals. Should be a good time! |

You're not far from me then. Loads to do - head into the dales, drive down to the peak district or up to the lake district. Harrogate is a nice town, great shopping in Leeds or Manchester (if you fancy the wrong side of the Pennines!) Head to the coast - Whitby, Scarborough, bridlington.
