There was a post on another thread and someone mentioned they would not pay $5 for the app - neither would I. I refuse to pay for apps, so I'm curious, what apps have you all paid for?

I've never paid for an app, all free! I use the BBC news app quite a lot and BBC iplayer convert. I also have a unit converter app and a few others that relate to interests and hobbies but I would never pay for an app. Most of them seem to have very poor reviews and don't perform as well as claimed.

My phone has mostly game apps for my kids, but I do have the twixt time app. I don't think it's very accurate though.

I was looking at that one and thought it looked cool. You think it's worth it.

I did pay something like $4 for a watch app. it permits me to have a live functioning watch as my wallpaper when I turn on my phone. as always, you can pay more to get a more advanced version, but I have a decent selection of watches. right now, my active wallpaper is a gold IWC Portuguese with sweeping seconds.

Up to a couple bucks. Except one - when switched from Droid to my iPhone 4s, I wasn't happy at all with the rooted map app. I did purchase the full Garmin app which was about $40, but it gave me what I wanted and couldn't otherwise get on an Apple devise at that time. (I'm still not impressed with the newer Apple maps and always go directly to the Garmin app).

Business ones only, without ads popping up evertiume I aceess them.

Light meter, clinometer, spreadsheet, diary (my iphone is rubbish as a PDA in its basic form) trying to emulate my old Palm Treo. God I miss that operating system. The apps were cheap, so I figure I can go through quite a few before I start approaching anything that looks like serious money.

you are all paying for the apps you use - though maybe not the $0.99 purchase price ?
paying with your "eyeballs" for in app advertising.
paying by location and usage data you provide.
or paying by not having a good app updated when the revenues above do not adequately cover r&d expenses.

Not mentioning the game downloads for my daughter (and the efforts to keep her from too many in-app purchases), I have gladly paid for several of the apps I am using, the 0.99 for the camera+ app was among my best "investments" ever, I'd happily pay the current price of $1.99, less than a cup of coffee or small fries with my burger - and I use this app every day and enjoy it immensely. Then there's the Apple iPhoto app, a bit more expensive at $4.99 - but a wonderful piece of software that allows for easy pic editing - at the cost of a Big Mac. There are several more apps I've paid for; Whatsapp, Tom Tom Navigation, OCR, Accuweather to eliminate the ad overload; probably several more over the years.

I love camera +, great app. I would have paid $10 for that if I had to.
