Just ran into Stephen Urquhart at a supermarket here in downtown Zurich... As a matter of fact, right across the street from the Omega boutique. In hindsight, I should have asked him for a discount on the new ceramic Speedy :)

Saturday afternoon in sunny Zurich, gotta love it.

That would have been a good thought. You could also have suggested that a few of your fellow forum members might also appreciate a discount on a new speedie too. Only kidding.

Supermarket shopping in Zurich! One of the worlds leading Financial Centres where the inhabitants go supermarket shopping on a Saturday afternoon. For some reason I can't imagine that scene. :) Funny old world isn't it........

Sounds like the Supermarket world is everywhere too. haha

Right across the road from my supermarket is a parking lot and a chinese restuarant... Jim I guess we're not quite as classy as Zurich yet here in Aus!

That’s about the sum of it, Dr. J. All those espionage movies, showing beautiful scenery and vistas in and around Zurich never mentions such domestic necessities as a supermarket. If Jason Bourne had smashed himself out of a Zurich Bank window straight through an Aldi Store roof then; I don’t know what I would do………. Lose faith in the Bourne Identity?

I am aparantly in one of the sort after suburbs of Melbourne, and there are supermarkets everywhere round here. Can't see why anyone would want to live here, as I would rather be In Zurich. Well, I did want to be in Zurich. Just not sure now.

 Enjoy the Sunshine Nav01L

Still don't think there's an Omega Boutique across the road from your shops in Melbourne though :-P

Well the thing is, our city center supermarkets don't exactly look like any old Aldi store...

Here's the supermarket from across the Omega Boutique... You're of course free to regard it as inappropriate for a city center if you like, but I think it looks ok :)

Looks beautiful Fred. We're just jealous that
A) our supermarkets don't look nearly as nice,
b) that our local AD's aren't as conveniently place to allow a daily window shop after grocery shopping :)
C) that we don't run into the former head of AP and Blancpain and current head of Omega while grocery shopping ;)

Would have been an interesting chat!

We certainly are jealous. You would hardly even know that Supermarket was one. Must be that iconic Cities in Europe mandate that any domestic necessity shop must look like a Museum or Government Building.

As for who you bump into whilst shopping, well……….! If you see Matt Damon trying to escape from the secret service in Isle 4, say hello to him for me.

If Mr Bourne doesn't remember you Jim I'm sure it's purely due to the amnesia ;)

I'll try, but he is JB, so I might get shot in the process... This could be such a peaceful place without the Americans, but no, jumping from buildings, cracking down on our banking (that's how we call tax evasion ;) ) and all we get in return is Justin Bieber (another JB), who's not even really American.

And don't even get me started on the rebates and swag they get with their Breitlings.

;)

Here's a big bag of salt by the way... Just in case.

You will just have to console yourself Fred that at least you guys look like the best dressed supermarket shoppers in the world! No wonder Stephen Urquhart and James Bond shop there. Sorry, you did not say James Bond, I just made that up.

I have been checking out the people in your picture and I don’t think I have ever seen such beautifully turned out people coming and going to a supermarket before. It’s like Rodeo Drive or Monte Carlo and something I can only dream of seeing here in the suburbs.

When we go to the Supermarket here, we all look pretty ordinary. But there again, we don't live in Zurich!

Wife goes groceries shopping and I satisfy my lust across the road at the Omega Boutique.
Perfect setup IMO.

Wessa, just be careful. Bucherer is also pretty next door. Your wife might want to swing in there instead of the supermarket :)

Wessa, everything is across the road (and down and then back up 20 stories) in Hong Kong ;-)
