Anyone ever been to Per Se in NYC? Rated as the top restaurant in NY, I may try it.

Was it worth it? Would like to take my parents there, they do not have the patience for a meal that takes hours, but if it's worth it - they may.

Is it worth what? Everyone has a different value proposition, if you're earning $50k/yr then spending two weeks of salary on a meal probably isn't worth it regardless of how good it is whereas if you're earning $500k/yr then it more likely will be.

I thought it was excellent (had one of the set menus) but you might not agree. Why not try it out for yourself and report back?

Finding a table might be difficult, I got my arranged through my (American Express) concierge so it was pretty straightforward.

Depending upon what you're into (I look for good food, service, wine and views when considering a decent dining experience) then the River Cafe in Brooklyn may be a better option for you. A lot cheaper than Per Se (if you're bothered by the cost) with better views (IMO) and much easier to get a table.

We liked it... But found the lunch at Jean George to be more enjoyable, cheaper and the food of equal quality.

If your parents don't like lo formal dinners... Then I'd recommend looking at some of the lunches at the top places like Daniel, Per we, jean George etc.

Just a suggestion. Out of per se, jean George and Daniel, we enjoyed jean George the most.
