Just under a month after the 4th of July, it is Switzerland's turn to celebrate its National Day. So, I take this occasion to wish happy August 1st to all.
Often, and depending on the calendar, celebrations of August 1st span over several days. This year, in my hometown on the borders of Lake Léman, the festivities lasted 5 days.
During these days, we had the opportunity to watch regattas of old vessels (some over 200 years old), enjoy cruises with several of them and even have a mini air show of old planes. And of course, the traditional fireworks of which you can see over a dozen during the evenings of July 31 and August 1st as different towns around the lake start their own.
I thought I could share some pics with you, even though I was very ill equipped for the air pics.
