Buy the bike you like best because you will be more likely to ride it. Get the bike that wows you so you are excited to ride even in the rain. Tons of value in used bikes over new....but since you have a short list I will offer this up. Never been much of a Trek fan. I feel you are paying for the name and think you get more value in other brands. Trek is like Rolex everyone knows that name if nothing else. All other things being equal I'd probably get the one with the most Ultegra stuff. 105 is great, but if the others are all 105 I'd go with the first on the list. You are right to look at wheels. Much better to have a $1000 bike with $2000 dollar wheels than a $1500 bike with $1500 dollar wheels....or whatever $$$ amount your budget allows. My wheels cost more than my watches...you gotta have your priorities in place.  Good luck with decision and post pix! |

My two current bikes. MT and road, are Trek and never gave me any problems so I would lean towards the Madones but the Cube Agree Pro seems to offer super value for money. Trek could be around 1k to 1.5K more for the same spec.. Most ride's are around 100K to 150K so fit has to play important role which is why I am slightly nervous to move away from Trek. |

you're getting good advice from the other posters - I always try to buy the best frame possible, knowing that i will upgrade components in the future on a frame of quality that fits me. Having ridden some new carbon bikes - giant TCR and Orbea Orca- with 105 stuff, they are great bikes for the $$ and the 105 works flawlessly, and probabaly will for 10K miles. Look out for cheap brakes and cranks with more expensive rear deraulliers - it's common.As well as cheap wheels. I do agree on Trek prices, too. |

I hear ya on brand loyalty. If you are happy with the Treks you currently have and think you will have regrets down the road get the Trek for sure. As for fit as long as you buy the right size frame and don't have some wierd body parts any bike can be properly fit to you. You might need a different seat, stem, bar, crank length...but they will all "fit" you. A couple hundred dollars/euros on a professional fit is well worth the cost and couple of hours of your time. Good luck, always exciting to have a new bike. |

Not the most advanced but for me more than good enough, weighs just 7kgs and rides like a wind. Picked it up new in Taipei for under 2K USD. Can't wait till all my household belongings arrive in Beijing so I can take it for a good spin around the mountain roads around the city while the weather is still good

Wessa, nice ride. Needs white bar tape  Any concerns about the air quality when riding out your way? My friend in the auto industry travels to china on a regular basis and says some days his eyes burn in the car from the hotel to work.

Well hav'n riden all four its down the the Trek 4.5 madone and the Cude Agree Pro  The Trek is most likely the one I will go for but boy the Cube is one sweet bike!

Well here it is, the 2012 Trek Madone 4.5 with upgraded Mavic Ksyrium Equipe wheels. Rides a lot faster than my older one and with the Mavic's its easier to keep up the speed. A few quick snaps...

Nice and congrats! Nothing more motivating then a new bike. White bar tape too bonus points for that...very euro-pro. Good upgrade on the wheels, should be fast and fun. Now get out and ride. I managed to crack the 2,000 mile mark by the end of July this year. 3,200+ K for you kilometer types. |

Three rides and it's no longer white See what I mean?
