So Ladies, Gentlemen,

I take it from your interest for this board that your wrists carry the very finest of what watchmaking has brought forward. Clearly, you pay close attention to the aesthetics, the history and the perfection of the pieces you chose to wear. So that bears the question: what else is there you'd do that for? Coats? Polos? Shirts? Suits? Shoes? Or god forbid undies?

Are there non-horological pieces of apparel you care as much about as your watches? And if yes, what are they?

Personally, I'm a sucker for the coats of a certain British manufacturer... If you catch my drift... And I'm starting to appreciate what a proper polo is. :)

In Arizona???????????

nuts! :uplaugh:

Back on topic, love dress shoes, silk knit ties, cardigans... I like my polos cut close, my pants on a bit of the slim side as well. Shirts by Theory, Paul Smith, Marc by Marc Jacobs, J-Crew, semi-casual wear by Vince, sportcoats by Jil Sander... Barney's private label, scarves (as long as it has color) baseball caps by New Era (particularly only collect my team)

These are a few of my favorite things. :strummin: :cheer:

Coats - Columbia Ski Jackets
Polos - Under Armour golf polos
Dress Shirts - Brooks Brothers
Suits - $149.99 special. Could care less about fancy suits
Dress Shoes - Whatever is on sale that is comfortable.
Undies - Free Baller

It's sad that my daily pen is worth more than my suit, dress shirt, tie, and shoes combined but I am not an apparel guy, I could care less about clothes.

I'm interested in apparel, but not obsessed with labels - I mostly graze for the best deals on well made clothing. I'm lucky enough to have an Original Penguin just up the street in Chicago so they probably constitute most of my casual clothes.

For other items, I follow along a blog:

These guys do a good job of pointing out well made, long lasting, and seasonal items without breaking the bank.

.

Never mind - the lesson is that things that seem funny after a few beers aren't necessarily so after the alcohol wears off.

I love Brooks Brothers shirts also. Especially the extra slim non-iron ones.

I usually stock during the BB sales.

I recently bought a pair of their cordovan leather loafers. Super comfy.

The last couple of years I've been alternating between jcrew, brooks brothers, and Benetton.

Good call on the shades, I totally forgot about them. I have 6 pair of Oakleys, 2 pair of Maui Jim's, and a pair of Ray Bans. I love me some good polarized UV protection.

Okay, I'll play:

Dress shirts: Nordstrom or Paul Frederick, pinpoint, brass aftermarket collar stays. I'll do an occasional button down, but not for real dress.

Dress shoes: Allen Edmunds (A-B width feet, and they'll last forever if you take care of them) Wingtip or cap toe (no clown shoes)

Suits: Flexible, but nice fabric. Hart, Shaffner and Marx works. Mom and Pop store in town sells nice light Italian wool suits. Day to day I'm not fussy but for big meetings, gotta look the part.

Polo shirts: Lightweight dry-tech shirts, not fussy on the brand.

Slacks: Double reverse pleated.

Pen: In the office, fountain. Out, lost too many, whatever is in the supply room.

Key fob: Yes, if the keys are out I look. Shouldn't but I do. Hey, I like cars.

I'll play too.
have been standardizing my wardrobe for many years, down to one single type and a single manufacturer of underwear and socks (in three standard colors so I'll not go crazy if I end up with those inexplicable uneven number of socks again)
blue striped pinpoint Oxford shirts, by the dozen (Brooks & the surprisingly good EddieBauer, my local tailor now, my Taipei tailor from the years I used to travel there frequently)
shoes: Ludwig Reiter and Allen Edmunds (quality of both is actually almost too good, have not bought a new pair of shoes for a decade or more)
polos: Ralph Lauren (still the best quality, aging beautifully)
suits: not so much the label that somebody sticks on them, but the fabric: Zegna, Scabal, Cerutti, Dormeuil

Interesting topic. My attraction to nice things definitely doesn't stop at my watches. Since moving to the UK, I can't even tell you how much I miss Nordstrom. I also lived in Seattle where the flagship store is located, so the place always had exclusive stuff that other stores didn't get.

Jeans: I used to never be on the expensive jeans boat . . . until I broke down and bought a pair. My daily wearers now are Seven, AG, Diesel, and Citizen.

Shirts: I normally wear a polo or button up. I have a few inexpensive ones (GAP, JCrew), but the majority of them are nicer (Theory, Versace, Burberry, Hugo Boss, Rag & Bone, etc.) However, by FAR my favorite designer is John Varvatos. I have an embarrassing amount of his clothes. Can't find him in the UK, though, which is probably a good thing for my bank account.

Suits: I like nice sits as well, but nothing too over the top. I've tried on $2k+ designer suits and they never seem to fit me right. The best suits for my body type are Hugo Boss (slim cut).

Shoes: I'm pretty into shoes. When I was a teenager, I collected Jordans. That fad wore off and I'm into much nicer ones now. I don't have a lot of shoes, just a few really nice ones. My dress shoes are by Salvatore Ferragamo and Santoni. My daily wearers are by To Boot New York. I have several pair of their drivers that I really like.

I've been buying designer sunglasses for many years now, but I'm starting to realize that most of them are s#*t. I keep wishing I could find a pair of Maui Jim's that didn't look like old man sunglasses, as this brand uses real glass lenses instead of plastic. They feel much better made than the Gucci junk I currently have.
