I always look for a challenge, currently I have the FSA, CFA, CIPM, CLU, ChFC designations. Thinking to go for the PMP next, any suggestions regarding a difficult designation to go for? I don't need these for work (except the FSA), but always enjoy something that makes you think. |

The CFA you needed relevant work experience, since I assess risk they accepted that as relevant. I didn't know PMP you need to justify work experience for that also. Good to know! |

Have thought about PhD, but I have no time for a brick and mortar university......also, the thought of writing a dissertation....that will never happen. Writing my masters thesis was painful and that was just a mathematical proof of sorts. CPA ......... for some reason I really have 0 interest in the CPA (I think it's from studying for the CFA, and all the comparisons always made of CFA vs. CPA - CPA's dislike of the CFA, and CFA's disliking the CPA, etc). Interestingly enough, Kaplan sent me something in the mail today about FRM, so might just take them up on it! And about the MD, I do offer free exams. When I was a kid I wanted to be an MD, always thought gynecologists were like legal perverts, but then when I found out I couldn't discriminate by age (meaning see patients only from 18 - 50 (there are quite a few gorgeous women around 50)) and I couldn't make it my policy that my patients did not have diseases (I saw pics of STD's on google, it's gross), then decided it wasn't the field for me. I wanted to specialize in just routine checkups ![]() |
