Aside from watches, I also have collected fine pens and cufflinks along the years, and now knives. Though no where as actively as watches. Just wondering if any one else collects cufflinks and if so what brands and styles?

I am mostely into the more classic styles, mostly Montblanc, Cartier, and the odd Dolan Bullock.

I have a few custom made pairs, my favourites being some red / white / yellow gold ones that I picked up in Egypt 20 years ago and were my first decent ones. I had to wear a suit every day when I was working in the UK, but now I generally only suit up for specific client meetings so don't have a need for them as much so haven't bought any lately.

I tend to wear double-cuff shirts to work (although I wear less now - and this is very sad  - because the metal joining bar can scratch my watches! ), but all mine tend to be of the cheap and cheerful variety! i.e. £10 specials from Next, or the Suit Company, or such-like. They've never appealed to me enough to spend much on them.

Just as an aside on the collecting front - I have one Montblanc pen, but that's it on that front too (with the exception of several Breitling pens! )

I love cufflinks, so I try to wear them whenever I wear a suit. Actually, I'm in the process of replacing my shirts (whenever I buy new ones) with double-cuff ones so I can get to wear them more often.

I know that you guys in the States/Canada do not wear them much, you have a much different lifestyle than we do over here in Europe. I do concede that may be more cool but if you like cufflinks, then you don't have the occasion to wear them often.

I have several pairs, some are custom made, others are not but most of them have to do either with aviation or BMW. I do inherited a couple from my grandfather but you don't see those anymore, so they're in a safe and I seldom wear them.

I do have to remind you however that IMO one of the best members have around here are Ron's:

Got a few pairs, maybe 20, nothing high end, but I go for the unusual, guess it started with a silver pair I was given as a christening present. A couple of knives, I have a nice Swedish barrel knife, nothing fancy, its just got a nice patina and a look of being well engineered.

I collect antique cuff links in a small way. I generally don't worry about brand but I do like the idea of something with history.

Interesting responses, I am more of a contemporary collector. I oddly tend to buy a new set with every watch I buy, and find it fun to match the watch with the cufflinks, I will have to do a photoshoot soon. Just found an amazing pair that looks like it was made for the Jaeger Reverso!

I've got quite a few. I wear them almost every day, but there are 1 or 2 pairs I seem to wear most of the time.

Favourite is probably a Dupont pair with contrasting brushed and polished steel surfaces, separated by a piece of onyx. Matches a GMTIIC perfectly.

I wouldn't say that I collect cufflinks as that would suggest it's something I actually focus on however I have acquired several pairs over the years and which I do wear regularly. My favourite pair is actually a watch movement, complete with the winding stem, that my wife picked up for me a couple of years ago. I also have a nice pair that display the British flag, a gift from my time spent in London and several other both normal and more funky pairs. I'll try and take a photo one day.

I also have a nice Cross pen, another gift. The closest thing I get to collecting is actually wallets. I like to switch them around every few months and have several different varieties and styles that includes money clips. My only major requriments is that they be small as I don't like big wallets and don't carry change ever. I'm also starting to get into knives and plan to have a few of those around soon!
