Another proof that BMW makes solid cars. http://www.bmwblog.com/2012/04/20/f10-b ... -autobahn/ Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2 |

And, if you forgive me saying a testament to how the people who drive them are potentially idiots... 300 on the Highway where there's other people? What an egoistic douche. Imagine if he had crashed into a Peugeot 206 with a young family father in it... Would said father have survived as well? Don't get me wrong, nothing wrong with the car and nothing wrong with driving fast... I just think there's racetracks for these kinds of stunts and can't prevent the slightly smug feeling of knowing approximatively what legal crafuffle this driver is going to recover into. |

Although undeniably you have a point, what about the brainless driver that went into the autobahn as if he was in his back yard? After all, that's what an autobahn is for, drive fast. Not like in Switzerland where cops use it to fill the budget deficit! Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2 |

Well, as I said, nothing wrong with going fast and there is a legitimate expectation that people will go fast on an Autobahn if anywhere. That is, my point is not so much directed at the speed as it is directed at the fact that you just don't go to the limit of what you're capable of handling "in public". And I think 300 kph is not something anyone can handle risk free in an environement where many others are evolving in an absolutely unpredictable manner... You don't have to be responsible for yourself, but to a degree you have to be conscious of what's around you. You don't go around randomly shooting a gun in the city center either, do you? There's a Norvegian who tried that not to long ago and it doesn't seem to have been such a good idea to say the least... It doesn't have anything to do with speed limits and radars though, just with avoiding to kill presumably innocent people... |
