What is the typical etiquette for buying from someone on this forum if they are local? Is an in person cash transaction appropriate?

Many Thanks Gents,
Justin

I would think that if you are local then an in person transaction would be the best possible solution - it let's you inspect the watch in person before handing any payment over and gives the seller peace of mind about the money.

Just try to meet in a crowded place (like a mall or restaurant) or a secure place (like a bank). That should minimize te chances of somebody showing up and robbing you for your cash or watch.

I make myself available for just such occasions. I will go to buyers and sellers houses and pick up the money and watch respectively. I will then leave "for a while" to determine the watch is genuine and the money not counterfeit. What could possibly go wrong?
