I find this rather amazing...the photo was taken a couple of years ago, 1GB these days is far smaller again. ![]() |

Yeah incredible isn't it! I used to visit a computer shop which had an old 64 meg hard drive displayed on the counter. I think it was about 2 1/2 feet high and 12 x 6 inches on the base. 64 meg ![]() I have a 4Gb memory stick which is about 1/10" thick, the width of a USB port and 1 1/2 inches long! And of course a 2 Gb micro SD card in my phone. Where will it end? I'll bet that baby made the lights dim when it was run up ![]() |

And you can also squeeze a lot more than 1 GB into that space you're holding... Evolution is amazing. |

I was working with a company that was considering a one terabyte storage area network back in 2000. Admittedly it had significant realtime memory back up but the cost...... $1,000,000 |

I got my first computer about 20 years ago.. it was a PC XT with 4mhz processor when the turbo was turned on. 2mhz when it was turned off. With a 10 meg harddrive. Those were the days.. I used to place Police Quest with Sonny Bonds on that Computer... wonder where it went? |
