Ok seriously, 254 Millions for 10 years...it's more than what the owner paid for the team when he bought it.

This is ridiculous...although i wish it was me!!

What do you guys think of this contract?

It's absolutely insane how much money professional athletes make these days. These contracts are soo big you would think they are using Monopoly money to pay them.

Its a good time to be an LA sports fan. Pujols, we re-upped Kemp, Mccourt will be gone soon, and CP3 looks to be on his way. And you never know...maybe even :superman:

It'll be interesting to see the thoughts of the Pujols contract 7 or 8 years from now when he's making $25 million as a DH. Bonds was productive, although with a little help from steroids, but with the new HGH testing, I don't know if anyone can match those numbers at that age ever again. Then again, Pujols is a machine and if anyone can, it'll be him. The best part about Pujols deal is that I won't have to see him play the Cubs 18-20 times a year anymore.

Clayton earned every bit of it, and Kemp was robbed. Im really looking forward to this season. The way things were clicking near the end of the season, and with the pariah out of town, it should be fun.

Sucks for sure. I dont know how Stern sorts this mess out, but ive lost a LOT of respect for the league after such a fiasco. Might be for the better if we can free up some cash and wind up with Howard. We'd still desperately need a better PG though.

I'm surprised no one bit on the roids news. Sad but no MLB player suspended for a PED violation ever has had it overturned. And ironic it is Selig's former team and it was Selig who proclaimed the PED era over. Does this mean Kemp gets the MVP? He should.

I dont think there is any question that he should be stripped of it. The two were neck and neck statistically and in the voting, and then a bomb like this drops. Everything he accomplished this season is worthless.

Braun is one of those guys you would NEVER expect to get busted for this. Its crazy. Way to ruin an otherwise great career.

EDIT: BTW, great way to ruin your teams entire season. If Fielder gets dealt, these guys are finished.

Braun claims its BS but these athletes know everything that goes into their body. One of the new topics in the CBA agreement is that the drug they test positive will be released so I'm wondering what it could be.

Fielder will be gone and without Braun for 50 games, that team will be done. They have good starting pitching, but they won't score any runs.

I have a feeling Angels fans aren't gonna give a damn if he can help them win a Series. I will say that I think a 10 year contract for a (supposedly) 32 year old player is just silly. But at least it's in the AL and he could probably be productive at DH for a couple years at the end of his contract.

As far as the amount of money he's making, yeah it's crazy but I'm not gonna begrudge him for getting it. It's not surprising when owners and leagues are gonna charge $30 to park, $65 for cheap tickets, $5 for a bottle of water and $9 bucks a beer. At least the owner is using all that money to try to win as opposed to giving it to Bernie Madoff, thanks Mets.
