I'm leaving in a few weeks for my vacation on the Oasis of the Seas, has anyone been on this ship? Any suggestions on what to do? Regarding the watch - thinking Tag for excursions/beach/pool/rock climbing, etc and Breitling World for everything else.

The world is a nice dress watch. What type of Tag are you considering? Considering the activities, I'm assuming Aqua Racer?

The one I already have, just a two-tone professional, nothing fancy - I have had this watch for YEARS, love how sturdy it is (dropped it on the sidewalk once, not even a scratch)

I would either pick up a Casio G shock for the activities or wear the tag during the day. Wear the world at night, dinner, shows, casino, etc.. Have fun!

I went on a cruise with Royal Caribbean in March and I wore my IWC Aquatimer during the day and to excursions, nothing extreme, just trips to beaches, and either wore that or my Breitling at night. One member on here mentioned that the Oasis and Allure of the Seas are actually Breitling ADs.

wouldnt surprise me at all they have good prices very similar to ashore and you get more time to spend looking.

I went on a cruise last week and took the GMT IIc. Never really left my wrist except to sleep. I say just take the favorite watch youve got and dont worry about it.

Last time I went on a cruise I wore me PO the whole time. It really made me think that I'd only need one watch but that's just not as fun.

Which cruise line? Did you buy a "soda card"? I was thinking just the one watch, but beach activities, rock wall climbing, etc, I wouldn't feel comfortable with my World.

I was on Royal Caribbean and the soda card was $6 per day. If you're going to drink more than 3 sodas a day, then buy it since I believe the cost is around $2 per soda. You don't need to wear a watch on the excursions since they have guides that time everything since you need to be back on the boat. I had my IWC along on some since a couple of the excursions didn't go directly back to the boat.

Justin's right on about the soda card. Only get one if you are planning to drink a lot of soda. Also, keep in mind that they give you a cup to refill... after a few days it can get pretty gross. I usually do not opt for the card.

As for the watch, well, I'm a "have to know the time at all times" kinda guy. I would recommend wearing a watch... any watch while you are on land. The ship WILL leave without you if you are not back in time. After that happens your choice is to either go home or fly to the next port and miss out on your vacation. I wouldn't rely on any one else getting you back in time. I have been very fortunate and have been on over 20 cruises, and this comes from experience. Like I said earlier, get a g shock to knock around usually under a hundred bucks for a nice one... it's worth it. Let me know if you have any other questions.
