Last weekend took place the traditional Vevey retro oldtimers meeting. The exceptionally warm weather (over 35°C) only added to the fun and to the pleasure.

Some excerpts:

The USA was of course well represented in this 100th anniversary of Chevy:

Good ol' Roscoe P. Coltrane was there, as was Starsky and Hutch

but Europe was not at rest with some classy examples from Great Britain:

The USA always at war:

with Germany following suit:

I even thought that Admin was present. Or was it just his Marcos?

A beautiful Fury with Tom's state numbers at the back:

The Ghostbusters were also present:

You could even buy some infrastructure from the US freeways to provide some very needed bucks to the US economy:

nice shots - you know how bad things are when we're selling road signs in France to fund this place!

I didn't know there was such a big collectors market for vintage automobiles especially US cars in Switzerland... a lot of those cars are beautiful! I have a fancy for vintage Caddys...

someday... if this watch hobby doesn't eat up all of my funds...

Indeed there is, especially at the German-speaking Switzerland. A good reason is that up to the early '70s, I believe, GM cars were assembled in Bienne (at the heart of watchmaking country  ). Rumor has it that they were much better finished than their American counterparts. Now, the former factory is a "vulgar" super-market and DIY shop.

Also, on June 19, the 100th anniversary of Louis-Joseph Chevrolet (a native of La Chaux-de-Fonds, again at the heart of watchmaking country) was celebrated at...La Chaux-de-Fonds. Despite the rainy weather, over 1'000 Chevys were present from all over Europe. Not counting the Daweoos that they now call Chevys.

Yep and contrary to the Junior, you don't see that many around.
