can anyone tell me what the uk real army is like because you see it on the website and it makes it look good. But is it hard and do you have to cleen up. Thank you so much.

Well, it all depends on the lifestyle you're looking for. I'm in the US Air Force, and I did plenty of work with the US Army, and I thank everyday I joined the USAF. That's just me. Not sure if it's similar in the UK. Being in for a while, if I could give you any advice, I would make sure you talk to all the services before you commit on one. If you can, try to talk to folks who are in. They will be very honest.... Hopefully. Good luck!!!

Not been in myself but know plenty of lads who have.

The first 13(?) weeks of basic training is hell on earth. Up before dawn and on the go non-stop all day. Fitness work. Drill. Constant inspections which you are guaranteed to fail. One speck of dirt on your boots, one crease not perfect on your bedding etc. No time off for the first six weeks. All designed to weed out the quitters who are no use to anyone in a battle.

If you get through that, you can then go on to learn a trade and earn good money.

I know this is an old topic but I'll reply anyway. I'm currently serving in the British army. The easiest way to look at the joining process is that if you really want it, then you will succeed. In my intake there were 64 on day one and only 14 left at the end, and looking back, it was obvious who was going to make it. My experience is only with my regiment so I am unable to comment on the rest of the army's training.
I have always said as long as the good points outweigh the bad then I will stay in as long as I can.
