Delaware fared fairly well. State of emergency was lifted ~ noon yesterday. The Brandywine flooded & swept away a few cars which went out Sunday early AM anyway. The areas in Wilmington which are prone to flooding anyway did flood. The beach areas had some damage & power was reportedly out @ ~ 55,000 homes. One tornado in Lewes, Delaware damaged a few homes. As for me, everything was fine with no loss of power. I've got some minor debris clean up to do today but that's about all. The storm came through here ~ 2:00AM Sunday & we slept throgh it!

Despite the warnings, our place in Manhattan faired well. No problems, and we are on a high floor. Our son was in Connecticut, and he never lost power (considering half the state apparently did, he was lucky). He reported a tree came down near the house, but that is about it.

My friend who owns a B&B on the border of Maine and NH (White Mountains area) texted me with the news that the flooding was the worst, but that all was well, just a clean up. It helped to have retractable solar panels and a wind turbine, as their little town in upper New England lost power. He took in several neighbors and is feeding them until everything can be sorted out. Damn good guy.

Today, low humidity and a temperature of 78 degrees F has made for a lovely afternoon lounging about. Windows open and Coltrane on the stereo!
