We just had an earthquake. The whole building jiggled for about 15 seconds. My friend felt it some 40 miles from where I am. Never felt that before.

Hope no one was hurt. Where are you?

We may have deathly heat in the summer and the occasional Haboob, but earthquakes are something we don't have to worry about in Phoenix. Though once while floating in the pool I noticed the water slapping at the sides. Turns out it was a slight rumble from a quake in central Cali.

I was just on a conference call with some colleagues in NJ - an alarm went off and everyone in the building were evacuated.

Apparently everyone is OK so far.

I'd didn't evacuate, actually I didn't even miss a beat playing online scrabble with my sister. :| My dog slept through the whole thing.

CNN reports many were screaming in their Washington office. (I hear Anderson Cooper was giggling uncontrollably)

Wimps. It doesn't get interesting until about 6.5 or 7.0.

I just spoke with George at Govberg in Philadelphis and he said their building was shaking for about 20 seconds.

Apparently we felt it here in Toronto - that is to say that half the office was running down the hallway and the other half was wondering why. Personally I never felt it.

Felt it pretty good here too. Sirens started going off & cell phones shut down. We did not get any aftershocks though. Interesting experience!

We are being called wimps by someone from san francisco.

Maybe next time we have an earthquake, we can borrow some of your flower power.

How will the earthquake affect the accuracy of our chronometers?
